Essex Villages Treasure Hunt
Our Essex treasure hunt explores an unspoilt part of this ancient county – from medieval Thaxted to gorgeous Finchingfield.
Thaxted is one of Essex’s finest towns, and has a recorded history pre-dating Domesday Book. After exploring Thaxted's medieval centre and church, the treasure hunt route follows the country lanes to Hempstead, home of Dick Turpin, (and of one of the county’s best real-ale pubs, The Bluebell). The final stop is the outstandingly beautiful village of Finchingfield, known as ‘the most photographed village in Essex’ – you will see why!
