Chilterns (Bucks)
Used for countless TV locations, including the Vicar of Dibley, Midsomer Murders and The Avengers, these traditional villages are quintessentially English.
Hunt starts at: Watlington (off the B4009, near to Junction 6 of the M40)
Hunt ends at: Hambleden (just off the A4155 between Marlow and Henley)
Length of hunt: c. 2-3 hrs (excluding optional refreshment stops)
The Chiltern Hills are one of southern England’s rural gems. Ancient church enthusiasts will delight in those at Fingest, Frieth, Turville and Hambleden (which Little Britain fans will recognise as the Welsh village of Llandewi Brefi) . Real ale fans will also have the time of their lives at some of the best beer pubs going. Fantastic fun for gatherings, days out or simply something different for the weekend!
We like:
- The windmill on the hill above Turville – recognise it from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?
- The unusual double vaulted church roof at Fingest (St Bartholomew's)
- Lunch at the Bull & Butcher in the middle of Turville village
